What is Transcutaneous oxygen measurement (TCOM)?
This test enables accurate monitoring of oxygen (O2) levels in the blood vessels delivering oxygen to the skin layer. It involves the use of electrodes placed on the relevant areas of the patient’s body to inform medical staff of the body’s oxygen transfer capabilities to the wounded locations.
Who should take this assessment?
- Person who will treat with hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) or after treatment with HBOT
- Person who will treat with vascular surgery
- Person who has non-healing wound such as diabetic foot ulcer
The assessment takes about 60 minutes
